Andrea Cote - To Belong to the World

The 2024 Parrish Road Show will feature Andrea Cote's site-specific exhibition at Bridge Gardens in Bridgehampton, NY. Cote's installation incorporates printed fabrics suspended from trees and bamboo structures up to fifteen feet tall, designed to complement the landscape.

Cote has gathered natural materials from Bridge Gardens across different seasons to create cyanotype prints, which combine elements of nature and human forms in celestial and cellular patterns. The installation includes banners in the Rose Garden that track the sun's annual path, with prints representing specific celestial events from the Winter Solstice to the Autumn Equinox.

Titled "Andrea Cote: To Belong to The World," the exhibition aims to encourage visitors to explore Bridge Gardens' grounds, which serve as an outdoor classroom, demonstration garden, and community garden. Cote will conduct community workshops before and during the exhibition, engaging with the site and her printing techniques. She has previously collaborated with the Museum on workshops for various community groups.
